The power of suggestion?

Can you knacker your back just by talking about someone who has done that very thing? If so I think I might have done it. There's an odd feeling in my lower back on the right side.

I'm seeing my toenails for the first time in weeks. That's not a statement about my tummy or weight but rather my love for nail polish. Time to let those puppies breathe and get pretty for these:

I've always thought blogs should be humourus and clever. I don't know that this is particularly clever. I don't feel particularly clever. I've been eating disgusting combinations of things like doritos and grapefruit juice and enchiladas and coffee made with milk. Sir Alex Ferguson is on the TV being celebrated for 25 years at Man U. He's clever. Humourus too with his chewing of doom. Oh well.

Happy 2010, everyone

The first post should be something impressive but honestly I'm not up to it. I made macaroni salad today and experimented with the add ons a bit - corn and celery instead of sweet pepper. It turned out quite well - I like crunchy things in my macaroni salad but boy did I overdo it with the onion!

My beloved Milan started the year positively with a win over Genoa. Juventus looms this weekend and I admit I'm nervous. We'll be without Pato, Clarence and one or two others. I'm honestly glad Becks has rejoined us.

Plain randomness before napping

Haven't written in more than a month - so much for commitment. I really need to finish sending e-cards to the family and finish the story for my fic exchange. I do so hate writing about things I could care less about. I'm having a nap first.

It's all virtual but still I agonise...

I want to buy a Secret Lab Map for one of my side accounts on Neopets but the total price has skyrocketed. Technically and mathematically I can afford it but I do hate to see my virtual bank balance decreasing. Yes, I am a geek.

...Smells Like Teen Spirit. Remember that line of deodorant? "Anti-Perspirant made for you and your generation."I think I tried all the varieties. I'm sure it protected well enough but it was also a gloppy mess that left residue and added up the hours of scrubbing the underarm bits of shirts and tops. I had the usual teen horror of body odour and tended to over apply.

I've been sampling Genie des Bois by Keiko Mecheri. Composed of violets, green of violets, cedar and exotic woods. It's a green violet with a little sharpness as opposed to a creamy, smooth violet. It paints a picture of sweet grasses and violets dried and stored with clean linen in a cedar chest. The sillage disappoints me, it's fading like a dream upon waking.

What I did today...

Looks good, yes? I've been wanting banana bread for ages. Of course, I've eaten too much of it considering I had a huge dinner with dessert last night and skipped the gym today. Still it was delicious.

What I've been up to since the lay off.

  1. Cleaning out my closets. I own far too many pieces I don't wear because they're too long, too short, too big. Hurrah for finding a seamstress decent at alterations! Many of my things don't seem to fit in my life path anymore.
  2. Visiting the Logos Hope floating bookstore! Very heavy on Christian literature, naturally, but excellent deals on textbooks; 3 for $60TT. I grabbed "Extreme Resume Makeover," "Writing for Magazines" and "Avanti! Beginning Italian."
  3. Teaching myself Italian (see number 2) Buon giorno. Sono/Mi chiamo Donna-Marie. Piacere! Sono di Trinidad.
  4. Working out. I'm back to doing lunges again.
  5. Signing up for NaNoWriMo. I don't care about finishing or winning but I do care about getting in the habit of writing everyday. I have a hazy idea for a Sci Fi story.
  6. Uploading photos.
